LG International Job Vacancy
LG International has constructed a business center in Yakutsk, the capital of the Republic of Sakha in order to further activate its ongoing projects in that country.
On June 23, LGI announced that the company held a ceremony for the completion of LG Sakha Center in the city of Yakutsk. Distinguished participants in the ceremony included LGI executives including CEO Young Bong Ha, Sakha President Borisov Egor Afanasyevich, and Yakutsk Mayor Zabolev Yuriy Vadimovich.
President Ha said in the congratulatory speech, “LGI will make sincere efforts to achieve long-term visions shared with leaders of Sakha.” He went on to say, “LG Sakha Center is hoped to be a venue for further activating the global business of Sakha.”
LG Sakha Center is the first building constructed in Sakha by a Korean company. This eight-story business building, covering a total floor space of 6,150㎡, is located at the center of Yakutsk. To meet the ever-increasing demand for a commercial building in Sakha, LGI established a local subsidiary in 2008, and has pushed to construct the LG Sakha Center.
In October 2007, at LG Twin Tower, LGI signed an MOU with the former Sakha President Shtyrov to push for a comprehensive development project in South Yakutia. Accordingly, LGI is pushing ahead with bituminous mine development, thermal power generation, water treatment, and power transmission and distribution projects.
An LGI official said, “We will use LG Sakha Center as a beachhead to further expand our ongoing various resources and infrastructures development projects in Sakha.”
The Republic of Sakha is a federal subject of Russia with the largest area, and it is a resource-rich country that has ample reserves of various natural resources such as petroleum, coal, iron ores, and diamonds. In particular, since last year Russia has seriously been pushing ahead with the development of resources in Sakha, drawing more attention. In April this year, President Borisov and civil and government business delegations of Sakha visited South Korea to hold sessions for presenting resource development projects and to attract investment from domestic companies.
