Biodiversity Coordinator
Reporting to the Biodiversity Superintendent, this challenging and exciting position will be responsible for coordinating and implementing the Biodiversity Strategy at a site in Central Kalimantan. Responsibilities include, reporting and monitoring of compliance with company biodiversity management requirements across project sites, as well as coordinating biodiversity activities across the entire area of operation. Specific duties will involve monitoring and reporting of construction and mining activities to ensure compliance with company biodiversity management requirements, investigation of any biodiversity incidents, coordinating forest and wildlife surveys and ensuring implementation of the site biodiversity plans. In addition the Biodiversity Coordinator will have responsibility across the entire area of operation and will coordinate biodiversity consultants, and conservation NGO partners activities.
To be considered for this position, at least a graduate with a university degree in Ecology/Nature Conservation/Forestry/Biology or Environmental Studies with at least 5 years field experience in biodiversity conservation management preferably in Kalimantan. Good communication and writing skills in Bahasa and English (oral and written) are desirable. Demonstrated understanding and appreciation for Health and Safety are essential. Willingness to learn, work hard, diligence, honesty, high motivation, and competency in the mining industry are preferred, or experience in private industry would be an advantage.
