The Position:
When dining in Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel our guests expect an exceptional culinary experience. Our food and beverage colleagues are expected to provide an outstanding service within our vast choice of dining options.
To join the Culinary team at Jumeirah Emirates Towers, we are currently looking for a Chef de Cuisine that will be responsible for the day to day operations of our Japanese Restaurants. This role reports to the Executive Sous Chef.
Job Descriptions:
Your job profile will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Ensure the smooth operation of the department by optimizing the use of materials and resources, thereby maximizing revenue and guest satisfaction.
- Assist in conducting regular training, meetings and briefings to keep colleagues informed of policies, procedures, special events, further improvement plans and guest comments.
- Plan menus, recipes and test samples in conjunction with the Executive Chef / Executive Sous Chef.
- Maintain all records and forms as prescribed by management and policies.
- Lead and motivate a team of up to 20 colleagues.
The Person :
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a competent trainer who is quality conscious and detail orientated
- Demonstrate passion and flair for food and food trends
- Focus on activities that create a positive experience for our guests
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with others through positive communication
- Seek innovative and creative ways to achieve results
- Exercise good judgement in making decisions
- Inspire and guide the team by being a positive role model
Qualifications & Education :
The successful candidate will have:
- Completed an apprenticeship and will have done extra culinary training to support their operational experience
- An international recognized culinary diploma
- A certificate in food safety and hygiene
- HACCP certification (desirable)
Experience & Skills :
The successful candidate will have:
- Between 2-3 years of experience as Chef de Cuisine in a traditional Japanese Restaurant or equivalent
- Experience working both inside and outside Japan (desirable)
- 5 star hotel experience (desirable)
- Exceptional english communication skills
