HHRMA Hotel Career Info. Required – Head Chef to oversee operation of restaurant kitchen and other food production areas at the award-winning Nihiwatu Resort.
The position is suited for someone who has a passion for cooking fresh, modern, light cuisine and is able to prepare dishes not only according to recipes but also according to what is available and in season.
The successful applicant should have the following qualities and experience:
* Indonesian citizen.
* Relevant experience in similar high-end operations.
* Strong kitchen leadership and organisational skills, as well as a keen eye for maintaining 5-star hygiene and sanitation standards.
* Flexible and able to cater to particular guest requests/ preferences/ allergies.
* Willing to conduct frequent personalised cooking classes with guests and regularly engage guests to assist in creating a unique, personal experience.
* Comfortable spending extended periods of time in a remote location.
* Able to mentor, coach, train and develop the Kitchen Brigade comprised of local island staff.
* Some experience with supervision of Food and Beverage Service and willing to assist with tasks beyond the scope of the job description.
The incumbent will report to the Resort Manager. Starting date is 15th February 2011.
