Deputy Country Manager - Indonesia
Basic Job Purpose:
To manage the Indonesian Packaging office administration. At the same time to develop, implement and manage effective strategies that maximises Valspar’s position in the Indonesian market and to achieve corporate sales and profit targets.

Principal Accountabilities:

Safety, Health and Environment

* Ensure that Valspar operations are conducted with proper regard for the safety and health of employees, customers, community and the environment whilst observing at all times the standards, laws and ethics pertaining to all operations.

Sales, debt, and gross profit management

* Achievement of annual sales and gross profit budgets through the development and execution of effective sales and marketing strategies, and by monitoring performance and taking corrective actions where appropriate, recovery of all outstanding debts within agreed trading terms.

Business Planning and Strategy Development

* Development of strategies to achieve long-term business objectives.
* Planning for new product launches.

Stock Management and Customer Service

* Working with Singapore office to maintain sufficient stocks in Indonesia.
* Provide accurate forecasting.
* To liaise with export personnel in Singapore to ensure the efficient flow of documentations from Singapore.
* Help customers to manage stocks order forecasting system.

Leadership / Human Resources

* Manage administrative functions to ensure high levels of customer service and cooperation between Agent and Valspar businesses.
* Providing effective leadership in the Agent establishment and Valspar’s office.
* Coaching / mentoring of Valspar and Agent‘s sales staff.

Major Challenges:

* Medium term: To gain market knowledge and grow the sales and profitability of the Valspar business through effective sales strategies.
* Long term: To have in-depth packaging market knowledge in Indonesia.

Requirements:

* Tertiary (Marketing/Business studies) preferred
* Minimum 5 years sales experience in the Industrial/packaging markets
* In depth knowledge of strategic planning, marketing and sales
* Demonstrated ability to lead, train, motivates and develops people
* Communication skills, organising, delegating, and planning
* Strong interpersonal skills with high-level communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally
* Ability to balance high task orientation and work ethic with people empathy

Minimum qualifications are

  • At least ten years experience in senior management with a donor-funded program (preferably USAID), international non-profit organization or bilateral or multilateral donor energy.
  • At least five years previous experience working in the energy sector
  • Experience in managing budgets of over $500,000 annually
  • Demonstrated skills in program design, delivery and monitoring
  • Ability to work independently and also as a team member
  • Demonstrated capacity to write donor progress reports, develop contract for technical work and prepare evaluation reports, and
  • Proven track record of effective communication and outreach to organizations and networks in Asia’s clean energy sector

Responsibilitie :
  • Sales – Drive improvement of the sales i,e, Achievement Sales Target, Increase Average Item per Customer (AIC), Increase Average Customer Purchase (ACP) and ensuring the operational efficiency, productivity and profitability of outlet through the effective management of three main resources (stock, space & manpower)
  • Customer Service Measurement – Analyze, review, and create the customer service standards and measurement that will drive Sales and support the Company’s customer service strategy
  • Security/Inventory Management – Implement and monitoring of strict inventory control procedure in order to avoid shrinkage and to maintain efficient security within stores. Coordinate & organize regular stock counts to ensure the physical stock level corresponds with computerized records
  • Management – Ensure effective recruitment, management and development of people that meet Company competency requirement. Analyze the staff attrition details and provide feedback to Regional Office; Marketing – Influence & integrate the regional marketing plan. Manage the promotions and suggest marketing activities to drive business outcomes. Conduct evaluation, analysis, and submit report post completion of the ATL & BTL activities to Regional Office – Malaysia
  • Business Development – Business analysis for new business opportunities with comprehensive risk assessment and costing. Assure all business development activities are performed in a timely and professional manner
  • Reports – Analyze market trend of competitors and suggest areas of improvement. Provide monthly sales analysis report.

Requirements :
  • Candidate should be at least a Degree holder with 7-8 years experience in ladies fashion or retail industry
  • Strong business and financial acumen, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical, capable of fast decision making and possesses good judgment
  • Committed, self-motivated, independent, a dynamic team leader & result oriented
