WELL HEAD GEOLOGIST

Job Description:

Supports wellsite operations during drilling of wells. Involved in well planning, operations, quality control, and post appraisal. Geosteering of horizontal wells will be a key role of the position working closely with client and contract personnel. This will be a rotating position.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Planning

· Part of well construction team in planning of well, specifically directional design.

· Provides input on logging tools and additional measurements required to successfully execute the well plan.

Operations

· Onsite execution of well plan.

· Generate daily geological report in OpenWells.

· Supervisions of geological operations 9coring, mud logs, wireline logs)

· Geosteering of horizontal wells including use of computer-based models to ensure objectives of well are achieved.

Quality Control

· Quality control of geologic data obtained during operations (coring, mud logs, wireline logs)

· Develop appropriate KPIs to measure performance.

Post Appraisal

· Provides final report on geologic operations including recommendations for improvement.

GEOLOGIC MODELING ADVISOR

JOB PURPOSE (Outline scope of Job)

Utilizes sound geological principals and interpersonal skills to collaborate within a multi-functional team to develop 3D geocellular reservoir models for evaluating, optimizing and recommending reservoir development plans, and for input to reservoir simulation projects. Conducts detailed structural and stratigraphic interpretations and reservoir characterization studies as support for individual/group well recommendations. Constructs 3D geocellular reservoir models, populates models with rock properties, and develops simulation-scale models to support reservoir simulation studies. Provides technical support to the team by staying current with regard to new technologies, new interpretive and modeling methodologies, and other developments within the geosciences, and act as a technical resource to less experienced team members. · Provides geological expertise to validate and incorporate structural, stratigraphic, rock properties, and petrophysics into integrated 3D geocellular modeling projects

· Constructs reservoir- and simulation-scale 3D geological models utilizing Schlumberger Petrel and IP software, while incorporating interpretations and data from LGC products, including SeisWorks, StratWorks, ZMAP, GeoGraphix, and OpenWorks

· Works effectively with subsurface geophysicists, engineers, petrophysicists, RMT personnel and operations personnel to ensure robust and consistent reservoir models

· Incorporate geophysical and petrophysical interpretations into comprehensive 3D geomodels

· Provides geological and modeling support for field development plans including primary development and EOR/IOR projects

Technical Studies

· Recommends, plans, designs, coordinates and directs the acquisition and analysis of core, wireline, and other geoscience data necessary to generate, evaluate and upgrade reservoir models

Description:

Supports RMT's by providing them with petrophysical reservoir descriptions log analyses, and studies. Planning, preparing, and execution of logging jobs. Responsible for the quality control of the raw and computed data. Participates in peer reviews and helps with completion interval selection. Is aware of and recommends new technologies as needed.

Responsibilities:

o -Petrophysical Log Analysis

o Accurate and timely analysis of any logs acquired by the RMT

o Responsible for quality control of the log data and also the quality of the complete services provided by the vendor

Working with multi-disciplinary teams and reporting to a Subsurface Team Leader, this role will have primary responsibility for the interpretation and integration of geophysical and geological data over producing fields to identify future infill drilling opportunities. Essentially this role is responsible for all geophysical aspects on the company’s producing fields, near field exploration and development opportunities including detailed seismic data interpretation, well planning and follow up, and support field operation with seismic information .Utilizes sound geophysical principals and interpersonal skills to collaborate with RMT’s to develop well and reservoir development opportunities. Provides technical support to the team by staying current with regard to new technologies, new interpretation methodologies, and other developments within the geosciences, and act as a technical resource to less experienced team members.

Responsibilities:

· Develop initial reservoir targets for development drilling - Emphasis on the interpretation of seismic data as part of well planning and evaluation. Integrate work with reservoir studies and well operations teams to ensure development well targets are prepared and ready for drilling.

· Assess, quantify and communicate geophysical risks to team members and management along with conclusions based on interpretations.

· Build velocity and time-depth models for development area and field.

· Structural and stratigraphic mapping of key horizons.

· Coordinate/Conduct integration of work effort/studies on attribute analysis for input to the reservoir characterization modeling.

· Plan and supervise pre-stack and post-stack seismic attribute processing and analysis for qualitative and quantitative reservoir description.

Trouble shooting/ installation and maintenance of electronics transmitters, control valves, radar level transmitter, RTD, Thermocouples, analyzer and other field instruments.
Trouble shooting of DCS preferably Yokogawa Centum 3000 R3 and ESD systems.
Trouble shooting of loop wiring and its termination.
Experience in wiring termination and its drawings.
