A Brief History of PT Askes Indonesia
1968 - The Indonesian government issued a policy that explicitly regulate health maintenance for the Civil Service Retirement and Beneficiary (civil servants and the Armed Forces) and their family members based on Presidential Decree No. 230 of 1968. Minister of Health established a specialized agency within the Departemen Kesehatan RI for Badan Penyelenggara Dana Pemeliharaan Kesehatan (BPDPK), where by the Minister of Health at that time (Prof. Dr. G.A. Siwabessy) is expressed as the forerunner of the National Health Insurance.
1984 - To further improve health care insurance program for participants and that can be managed professionally, government issued Government Regulation No. 22 of 1984 on Health Care for Civil Servants, Pension Recipient (civil servants, military and state officials) and their family members. Government Regulation Number 23 of 1984, the organizers changed the status of a Public Company Husada Bhakti.
1991 - Based on Government Regulation Number 69 of 1991, membership in health care insurance program run by Housing Husada Bhakti coupled with the Veterans and Pioneers of Independence and their family members. In addition, the company allowed to extend membership to other entities and agencies as voluntary participants.
1992 - Based on Government Regulation Number 6 Year 1992 status of Perum converted into Limited Liability Company (PT Persero) with consideration of the flexibility of financial management, contribution to the Government can be negotiated for the benefit of participants and management services to more independent.
2005 - PT. Askes (Persero) was assigned by the Government through the Department of Health, according to Minister of Health Decree No. 1241/MENKES/SK/XI/2004 and Number 56/MENKES/SK/I/2005, as Operator of the Poor's Health Insurance Program (PJKMM / ASKESKIN).

Legal Basis
PT Askes (Persero) who is domiciled in Jakarta was established by notarial act Muhani Salim, SH No. 104 dated August 20, 1992 which amended several times, most recently by notarial act NM Dipo archipelago Pua Upa, SH No. 37, dated August 19, 2008 that has intent and objectives and activities as follows:
